Hong Kong have been given clearly to understand that the use
of American made chassis for buses would not be looked upon
with favor by the police.
As I explained to you in our conversation, the
Department in Washington cannot believe that it is the
intention of the British Government that this inequality of
opportunity should continue and these facts are placed
informally at your disposal in the hope that something can
be done to remove the present hindrances to the sale of
American made buses in Hong Kong.
